About the Authors

Tracy C. Ertl is a former Green Bay Press-Gazette police reporter and currently dispatches police officers and firefighters throughout Titletown. Ertl was named 2004 Brown County Telecommunicator of the Year, another high point in her career that started 14 years ago with the Green Bay Police Department. Brown County Public Safety Communications is her employer since Green Bay merged into a joint operation.

As a life-long crime chaser, Ertl began her writing career as a crime reporter and was managing editor of "Lifestyle" magazine in the Fox Valley. She is an award winning author, most recently taking third place nationwide in the 2005 National Shooting Sports Foundation's writing contest.

Ertl has two books set for release in 2006 including When the Easter Bunny is Naked, a non-fiction account of crime through the eyes of a child. Also set for release is Like Riding an Ali-gator, a personal look at dispatching for the most prominent NFL city in the country, Titletown.

Tracy lives in Green Bay, WI, with her husband, Terry, and their three teenage children, Andrew, Christine, and Bradley. Christine, 16, a writer as well, is collaborating on a sequel to When the Easter Bunny is Naked, titled Face in the Doorway.

Mike R. Knetzger is a 15-year law enforcement veteran and currently an Advanced Patrol Officer / Field Training Officer with the City of Green Bay. Prior to policing in Titletown, USA he spent four years as a patrol officer and detective in the Town of Brookfield (WI) police department.

Knetzger is a certified Wisconsin Technical College Instructor and certified by the Wisconsin Department of Justice Training & Standards Board to teach Defensive & Arrest Tactics, Firearms, and Professional Communications Skills. He holds an associate degree in police science (criminal justice) from Waukesha County Technical College, a bachelor's degree in justice and public policy from Concordia University, and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh. He also teaches criminal justice courses in the associate degree program at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and undergraduate criminal justice courses for Colorado Technical University - online.

Knetzger is known for his dynamic speaking style that uses an appropriate blend of intrigue, humor, and audience participation. Knetzger has presented to hundreds of students and law enforcement professionals on topics of: investigating computer crime, constitutional law, police administration, professional communications, report writing, incident response to terrorist bombings, defensive and arrest tactics, and most recently “Solving the Historic Cold Case.”

Knetzger has also written several articles on computer crime. True Crime in Titletown, USA ~ Cold Cases is his first narrative non-fiction book and he is currently co-authoring a manuscript for a textbook entitled Investigating High Tech Crimes.
